G-Club
The name G-CLUB has long been associated with the very best in cutting edge house music and no-one involved in the dance scene over the past 10 years can possibly have escaped the influence of the G-CLUB sound.
Gerald Elms (the man behind G-CLUB) has made his name over the years as both innovative producer as well as a highly-skilled keyboard player/musician and this combination is ever-present in the G-CLUB sound.
No-one spending more than a few hours on the island of Ibiza in the summer of 2001 could have failed to find themselves in a club or bar dancing to the huge balearic smash ''Guitarra G''. The record enjoyed huge club and radio success, going on to be nominated for two major dance awards (Muzik Magazine best Ibiza track & Billboard Magazine best latin dance track). The track still provokes a massive reaction in DJ sets and live performances and shows no signs of fading at all.
In 2002 Defected Records released Gerald's follow-up in the form of ''Pressure Cooker''. While on a slightly more underground tip, this was a big hit with DJ's and record buyers alike.
Along side his work in the studio Gerald has also made a great reputation in clubland for his djing & live performances. For over two years the Vibe Bar in London's Brick Lane provided a monthly platform for the now legendry G-CLUB live nights in which he teamed up with DJ Dan Tait and percussion courtesy of Shovell (ex M People). Anyone who has witnessed this will tell you what a potent and unique combination of music, beats and decks this is, all still with that original G-Club sound. G-Club have performed many international dates from a tour of the legendary clubs of Ibiza to gigs at the Ministry of Sound in Taiwan and Singapore.
2006 also saw the launch of G-Club Records which provides a platform for Gerald's many productions and collaborations as well as bringing to the fore many new and fresh artists. Releases on the label include G-Club's ''People Are Crazy'', ''Faith'' and ''Fluid'' which have all enjoyed great critical acclaim.
